Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
1 How to order Polyter products ?
Polyter can be provided to any client worldwide directly from the manufacturer in France. Contact us and we provide you with the necessary information.
2 What is the delivery time?
The delivery from the manufacturer in France is depending on the quantities ordered:
- about 8 weeks for a container of 20 tons or more;
- 3 weeks for 1 to 5 Pallets of 625 kg/pallet (25x25kg per pallet).
3 What are the payment terms ?
The payment terms depend on the volumes ordered:
- For supplies up to 3t - 100% of the agreed price by bank transfer prior to supply;
- More than 3t - 50% with the order and 50% by irrevocable letter of credit (LOC) and confirmed releasable port of embarkation in France ;
Inco Terms : FCA (Free Carrier).
4 What quantities can be provided?
The production can take workloads of 40-100t of either Polyter GR or Polyter GRP per month.
This shall be understood in view with several other international projects where the manufacturer supplies the products already over a longer period of time.
5 What are the product prices ?
Distribution rates for 2015 from the manufacturer in France to the port of embarkment (shipping and insurance costs by the customer):
From 3 tons to 10 tons
Polyter GR 25 kg bag € 25.00 / Kg
Polyter GR.P 25 Kg bag € 26.00 / Kg
More than 10 tons
Polyter GR 25 Kg bag € 23.50 / Kg
Polyter GR.P 25 Kg bag € 24.50 / Kg
6 How can Polyter be applied on existing grass areas?
For existing turf of large surfaces there is a machine available that injects a mix of water and Polyter GRP in the first 10 cm of soil. E.g. the model "Liquiject 400" of the American company LiquiJect from Oregon (www.liquiject.com) is an extremely suitable machine for the injection of Polyter.
7 Once placed near the roots of plants, bushes or trees Polyter Gr needs to be watered which can be easily done with the irrigation system in place.
Trees and shrubs planted with Polyter GR will develop 3 to 5 times more roots compared to plants without Polyter. They will develop nodules and carry them down into the useful volume of soil with their roots. The roots will become much larger than without Polyter. In comparison the drop by drop irrigation system which develops roots of plants close to the surface can cause stability problems for trees and stress for the plants in case of a technical problem of irrigation.
7.1 But how long and how often is irrigation required?
During the first 3 weeks of planting water has to be irrigated thoroughly to the roots to form nodules from the added Polyter. From week 4 and as per soil parameters irrigation can be reduced by 50 to 80% and fertilization by 30 to 50%.
7.2 Can the watering be stopped or interrupted once the nodules of Polyter has been grown around the roots?
It is possible to increase the Polyter quantities added into the ground in order to create larger reservoirs of water. This will enable to increase the periods of time between each new addition of water. Practically ones can achieve periods of several months without irrigation.
7.3 What is the irrigation cycle with nodules in place while before (without Polyter) the greens were irrigated e.g. twice a day?
For lawns after root nodulation water savings of 50 to 80% can be achieved simply by changing the cycles and duration of irrigation.
7.4 How long is the life cycle of the nodules before they need to be placed again?
The life time cycle of Polyter depends on two degradability keys: Bacteria and UV-light. A realistic life time is:
(1) 3- 5 years in soil according to the number of bacteria
(2) Some months only if Polyter is found on the surface in contact with UV-light.
The positive effect of Polyter could be proven for trees being treated by coring or injections still after 5 years and above after application.
7.5 What are some general dosing guidelines ?
General guidelines for application of Polyter:
- For turf as 30-50 gr / m²
- For shrubs 30-70 gr / shaft
- For trees 2-3 g per litre of substrate in the planting hole.
7.6 Are there other products which can be applied together with Polyter?
In view of the specific parameters of the Palm Jumeirah program of 2005 the manufacturer has implemented a solution according to the Consultant’s specifications which does not use soil. A product has been created called “Polyturba” that can be mixed with pure sand providing retention, fertilization and structuring.
Meanwhile another product joined the POLYTER family: "Polyter-Fix". This additive modifies the molecular structure of the water in such a way it distributes horizontally - closer to the roots.
8. What shall be considered regarding storage of polyter ?
Reliable preservation is important to optimize the storage of Polyter in a place between 20° and 25° C. The maximum is 35° C. When opened, bags must always be closed, protected from moisture and UV light and stored in the dark.
